Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery A review by: Blake Kunisch Directed by: M. Jay Roach Released: May 2, 1997 - US Posted: 1997/05/03 | 9/10 starsAustin Powers is a great movie and one of the most funny I've seen in a long time. Starring Mike Myers as Austin Powers (and Dr. Evil, Austin's nemesis), and Elizabeth Hurley as his "sidekick," the movie follows Austin Powers as he tries to stop Dr. Evil from blowing up the earth with a huge drill. Austin must infiltrate Dr. Evil's lair, defeat the fembots and save the world from disaster. Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery is a brilliant movie. It spoofs many other spy movies, especially Bond movies and does it spectacularly. I enjoyed watching familiar scenes from Bond being spoofed by Austin Powers. There are just too many great scenes in this movie to mention and I'd highly recommend seeing this movie. How can one go wrong with the hilarious Mike Myers backed up by the gorgeous Elizabeth Hurley?
