What's my name?

Speaking not only for myself, but for almost all college students at the preview, this movie is extremely funny. Following four high-schoolers looking for love on (and leading up to) prom night, there is not much that can be said for this movie. This very candid movie touches on high-schoolers notions of love, romance, relationships, and (funniest of all) sex. In their feature film debuts, director Paul Weitz and writer Adam Herz have a comedy masterpiece. With many newcomers to the big screen on the acting side (and some that shouldn't be there), most of them shine and turn in great, convincing performances.

I'm not sure what to say about this movie. It contains many adult themes and goes for the gross-out in every scene. The movie has received an "R" rating and is still being pushed towards the high school crowd who are most likely under 17. As a college student myself, I enjoyed this movie even though its plot sucks and the acting at times is horrible. The sheer comedy of this film is what gets you every time. Even with stricter adherence to the rating system taking place in most theaters (or so they say), this movie is being pushed towards teens and that's who is going to see it. Adults won't like this, kids will. Plain and simple. Whereas There's Something About Mary appealed to all audiences, this one goes straight for the kids and with the "R" rating, maybe it shouldn't. I enjoyed it and so did all of the other college students I was with. I've heard of adults walking out while the kids stayed laughing in their seats.
