First off, I have to lay down some facts. Nicolas Cage is one of my favorite actors. Angelina Jolie has been one of my favorite actresses ever since Hackers. I have never been disappointed by a Jerry Bruckheimer production. Con-Air and The Rock are two of my favorite films. Gone in 60 Seconds combines not only Nicolas Cage and Jerry Bruckheimer, but also Angelina Jolie. What is there not to like?

Gone in 60 Seconds combines fast-paced adrenaline-pumping car-stealing action with well, basically no plot. Or at least it's a paper-thin plot. To save his brother (Giovanni Ribisi) who took a job he couldn't handle, Memphis Raines (Nicolas Cage) has to come out of car-thief retirement and get his old crew back together to steal 50 cars in one night. That's the plot - that's it - there's a small sub-plot featuring a romance between Jolie and Cage and a rivalry between Delroy Lindo and Cage, but that's about where the intricacies end.

Plot or no, I still enjoyed this movie. Sure it's not a classic film - it'll never be on AFI's top 100, but nonetheless, it entertains. The action is non-stop and the dialogue between the characters is witty and fun. Although Angelina's absence from most of the movie was noticeable, she still plays a significant role within it. The movie has its ups and downs, but overall, you'll find it to be one hell of a ride.
