Driven & More
Not much new to report, but updates will be coming soon. I saw a sneak preview of Driven yesterday and it wasn't anything special. Perhaps if you're in your early teens, you'll enjoy the fast pace of the movie as it features camera shots that don't last for more than 5 seconds, a constantly moving point of view and absolutely no plot. However, if you actually enjoy drama or any elements that should be present in a real movie, this one isn't for you. The computer has been returned, but shipped to the wrong address, but I'll be getting it Saturday and hopefully updates will be more frequent from then on. Thanks for visiting and sticking with me through these down times.

Box Office...
A few quick updates: 1) The weekend box office has been updated (see preliminary results to your right -->). Bridget Jones's Diary finally dethroned Spy Kids to take the #1 spot. Along Came a Spider took third place with Crocodile Dundee in L.A. opened up at 4th. The abysmal movie, Freddy Got Fingered opened up at 5th and hopefully will drop off the face of the earth by next week. 2) Updated the in-depth box office results from last week. 3) I got out and saw The Tailor of Panama today and was pleasantly surprised. But I guess anything following Freddy would seem like a masterpiece. The story was tightly woven and features twists and turns you don't expect. Brosnan, Curtis, and Rush are all spectacular and I'd highly recommend this movie if you live close to one of the 340 screens it's currently playing on.

Review Added: Freddy Got Fingered
If you ever take one thing away from this site, let it be this: Do NOT see Freddy Got Fingered. As stated in my review, this is the worst movie I have ever seen and does not deserved to be viewed by anyone. Do not help this movie at the box office and do not send a message to Hollywood stating that we want more of this. Rather, write letters to the studio execs, boycott the movie, and don't see this movie. Thank you. Now please resume your regularly scheduled surfing.

Review Added: Bridget Jones's Diary
As of Tuesday, my computer is on my way back to me after being fixed (and upgraded). Once it has returned, I will be able to resume regular updates of the site. Until then, amuse yourselves with my most recent review of the surprisingly enjoyable Bridget Jones's Diary. Zellweger turns in a fine performance as the witty script makes for an entertaining movie. Stay tuned for a review of either Crocodile Dundee or Freddy Got Fingered coming later this weekend. Also, check out a review of The Claim - this film was screened for critics back in December while vying for Oscar nominations and is being released on a limited scale this weekend. The Claim goes into wide release within a few weeks.

Weekend Box Office Update
Once again, the kid-themed flick, Spy Kids came out on top of the box office while the newly opened Bridget Jones's Diary opened in 3rd just behind Along Came a Spider. Rounding out the top five were Joe Dirt and Blow. Opening with a disappointing $5.2 million, despite positive reviews, was Josie and the Pussycats.

Belated Review Added: Enemy at the Gates
I had some free time between classes today, so I finally wrote a review for Enemy at the Gates. I really enjoyed the movie, but felt the romance was out of place. The duel between Law and Harris, however, was spectacular and well worth the price of admission. Look for more updates soon!

Update: Box Office & More
With limited access to another computer, I've been able to update the Box Office with results from the last month up to this last weekend. Also, the Links database has been updated with some new links. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the site up to date from now on. And now, new reviews: Joe Dirt and Josie & The Pussycats.

Review Added: Joe Dirt
As my computer is being shipped back to the manufacturer, the updates are few and far between, but I'm doing my best. I just added a new review of the comic failure, Joe Dirt. If you're looking for a movie to go see, catch Josie & The Pussycats - a funny, satiric comedy that actually contains laughs (as opposed to Dirt). Also released today, Kingdom Come, which looks to be an uplifting film that I hope to catch if I have the chance. Look for box office updates and new DVD reviews soon.

Reviews Added: Blow & Along Came a Spider
While my computer is on the fritz (and being shipped back east as we speak), I've still been able to update the site to a certain point. The box office will not be updated (Spy Kids was 1, Along Came a Spider 2, and Blow 3), but the reviews will keep on coming. And here they are: I've added reviews of both Blow which I finally got to see after the sneak preview was sold out last week, and the suspense thriller, Along Came a Spider, which turned out to be a letdown. Also, check out the sneak preview of Wednesday's release of Josie and the Pussycats, a fun-loving and entertaining film. As for the rest of the box office, 4-10 were as follows: Pokemon 3, Someone Like You, Heartbreakers, Enemy at the Gates, The Brothers, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Tomcats.

Review Added: Josie & The Pussycats
While my computer is still broken (something to do with the DVD-ROM), I am still able to squeeze in a few updates thanks to most of this site being administered through a web interface. That being said, I've just finished a review of Josie and the Pussycats. Going in with low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised - be it the clever script or the above par acting from all three involved. I'll try and work on getting a review of the spectacular Memento up as soon as possible along with some of my other backlogged movies - 15 Minutes, Before Night Falls, and Enemy at the Gates. Also, I was looking at the 1st page of movie reviews (link) and it appears as if something is off in the database, so I'll try and get that fixed as soon as possible (although this fix is probably going to have to wait until my computer is back up and running). Hopefully everything with my computer will be resolved tomorrow and I'll be able to get reviews up quickly of Friday's releases: Along Came a Spider, Blow and if I have time to see it, Just Visiting.

Update...
Unfortunately, I'm experiencing some computer problems and will not be able to update the website as frequently as I had hoped in the coming days. I will be seeing a sneak preview of Josie and the Pussycats tomorrow and will try to post a review as soon as possible, but it all just depends on when my computer is fixed - of course this would happen right after I receive my new game, Black & White...
