Box Office Update & Other Info.
The preliminary box office statistics have been updated to your right --> with Harry Potter ruling the box office once again breaking the 200 million dollar mark this weekend in only 3 weeks - simply amazing. And now an explanation/apology for the lack of updates recently. I've used the excuse multiple times before, but I've been bogged down by work and school with finals coming up this week, but after finals, I'll have a whole month off and you'll see a complete facelift for the whole site - as a sort of re-launch. You will be able to expect daily updates, current movie reviews and the return of DVD reviews. Thanks for sticking with me and tell your friends about the upcoming all new Movielocity.com!

Heist Review Added
Added a review of David Mamet's Heist. A brilliantly crafted character & dialogue-driven movie, Heist is a must see this holiday weekend after finding Harry Potter sold out. Also, I will be unable to see any of the new releases tomorrow due to my work schedule, but I hope to see a couple of them over the long weekend. Happy Holidays to all and have a great Thanksgiving! Also, please let me know what you think of this new design I'm working on: (New) Heist. To all who submit their thoughts, I will enter your name in a drawing for a $10 Amazon.com gift certificate.

Box Office Update & Misc. Stuff
The box office has been updated with Harry Potter (of course) taking the #1 spot this weekend with $90 million dollars - a new record for a three-day box office total, shattering the record held by The Lost World, Jurassic Park. Harry Potter also broke records Monday becoming the fastest film to reach the $100 million dollar mark - 4 days. In the coming days, look for reviews of Monsters, Inc., Heist, and Life as a House. Also, opening tomorrow, Out Cold, Black Knight, and Spy Game. (I will be seeing & reviewing Spy Game tomorrow).

Review Added: Shallow Hal
I've added a review of the Farrelly brothers' most recent undertaking, Shallow Hal. I also went out and saw Monsters, Inc. and the review should be posted shortly. Tomorrow sees the release of the aforementioned Shallow Hal and David Mamet's latest, Heist - which I'll probably see Saturday. As a side note, the box office has been updated - check the bar to your right.

Review Added: From Hell
I've added a review of the dark and creepy (perfect Halloween movie), From Hell. It features a plot that actually propels the movie in a positive direction and some good acting from Depp and the supporting characters. I might try and see K-Pax tomorrow some time, so stay tuned for more updates.

New Review: Thir13en Ghosts
I've added a review of last weekend's newly released, Thir13en Ghosts. Also updated is the box office, as K-Pax took the top spot with just over $17 million and Thir13en Ghosts came in a close second with a bit over $15 million. From Hell, Riding in Cars With Boys, Training Day, and Bandits all slipped 2 spots to take spots 3 through 6. Reviews of From Hell, Bandits & Training Day are coming soon. I also plan on seeing & reviewing Shallow Hal after Friday night's sneak preview. Looks good and since I like both the lead actors - Gwyneth Paltrow & Jack Black - it shouldn't disappoint.

Box Office & Other Stuff
It's been quite a hectic few weeks and I apologize for the lack of updates. I'm right in the middle of midterms here at UCSD and I've got multiple other projects I'm working on. I still have 2 reviews to write - Training Day & Bandits - both great movies - I enjoyed myself during both. One a very poignant drama, the other, a comedic escape. The weekend box office has been updated with the movie that I really wanted to see, From Hell taking the top spot with just over $11 million as another new opener, Riding In Cars With Boys came in second with just under $11 million. Training Day & Bandits (as I said before - 2 good movies), continued strong coming in 3rd and 4th with $9.5 and $8.5 million respectively. See the sidebar for the top 10.
